Shaver Christmas Letter 1995

"I will remove from your body your heart of
stone and give you a heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36: 26b
Now there's a great gift exchange!
How great to be given a heart of flesh!
How dreary and useless life is without one.
But right now,
Who can abide such a gift?
All over the place, efforts at
peacemaking and reconciliation are undone by
idiotic behaviour.
An increasing number of people are
faced with personal tragedy.
Steps forward in the human condition
are followed by as many steps backward.
In 1995, who can bear to have a heart
of flesh?
UNLESS God has a heart of flesh.
"In the beginning was the Word...and
the Word was God...And the Word became
flesh and dwelt among us...We have beheld
his glory."
John 1: 1, 14
